This policy explains what happens to your information when you use cortezrealtypanama.com, the website of Cortez Realty Panama, a family-run real estate brokerage based in Panama City, Panama. It is written to describe what this website actually does, not to cover every situation in the abstract.
Who we are
Cortez Realty Panama. We rent and sell apartments and houses in Panama City, Panama, and we manage properties on behalf of owners. Our website address is https://cortezrealtypanama.com.

What we collect, and when
When you write to us through the contact form
The contact form asks for your name and your email address, and optionally your phone or WhatsApp number, what you are interested in, and your message. You choose what to put in it.
Your message is delivered to us as an email and is not stored in a database on this website. It sits in our business email accounts the same way any other email from a client does. We use it to answer you and to help you with the property you asked about.
When you write to us on WhatsApp, by phone or by email
Those conversations happen on the platform you chose and are covered by that platform’s own privacy terms as well as this one. We keep the conversation so we can pick up where we left off, which on a rental or a purchase can be months later.
When you simply browse the site
Our hosting provider and our security provider record standard technical information: IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. This is ordinary server logging, used to keep the site online and to block attacks. We do not use it to build a profile of you.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your information, and we do not rent or trade it.
- We do not send marketing newsletters from this website, and there is nothing on it to subscribe to.
- This website does not currently run advertising cookies or third-party analytics. If that changes, this page changes with it and the date above will show it.
- We do not ask for your identity documents, bank details or financial information through this website. If a rental or a purchase reaches the point where documents are needed, that happens directly between you, us, the owner and the professionals involved, never through a form on this site.
The services that process data for us
Running a website means relying on a few providers. These are ours, and what each one handles:
- Bluehost, hosting. The site and its server logs live there.
- Cloudflare, routes traffic to the site and filters malicious requests. It may set technical cookies needed for that, and it processes your IP address as part of it.
- Akismet (Automattic), checks contact form submissions for spam. Doing that means the contents of the submission are sent to their service for the check.
- Email, your message reaches us as email and is stored in our business mailboxes.
Beyond these, we share your information with someone else only when it is part of what you asked us to do, for example passing your offer to the owner of the property you want to rent, or when the law requires it.
Cookies
This site uses technical cookies only: the ones WordPress, our page builder, our property search and Cloudflare need to display pages correctly, remember a search you ran, and keep the site secure. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them may stop the property search from working properly.
How long we keep things
Enquiries stay in our email for as long as the relationship is useful to both sides, clients come back to us years later, and a conversation we already had saves everyone time. Server logs are kept for a short period by our providers as part of normal operation. If you ask us to delete your information, we do, except where we have to keep a record for a transaction that actually took place.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and ask us to delete it. Write to [email protected] and we will answer you.
Panama has a personal data protection law, Ley 81 de 2019, and depending on where you live other rules may also apply to you. We are not going to summarise those laws here, because a summary written by a real estate agency is not the right place to learn what your legal rights are. What we can tell you is the practical part: ask us, and we will show you, fix it or delete it.
Children
This website is meant for adults looking for property. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Links to other sites
Some links take you off this website, to WhatsApp, or to a property portal where we also publish. Once you are there, that company’s privacy terms apply, not ours.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles information, we update this page and change the date at the top. There is no version of this policy hidden anywhere else.
